Self Overview:
Wow. So I never know what to put on these things. Um... Right. So I'm married to this really wonderful man, Mike (yeah, I know, but we were living in Vancouver at the time), and I'm a medical school student. I paint and play the flute and guitar, and like meeting random people. I have a twin brother who is a really amazing man whom I hugely admire. I also have a best friend who's becoming a nun! How cool is that? Yeah. Oh, and I'm Catholic, but I don't receive Communion due to the whole homosexual relationship thing, which is kind of saddening... But Adoration is just as intense, so I go to that as often as I can. It's not so much the religion thing as much as that I want to be close to Jesus... I know it sounds kind of lame, but it's true, and Catholicism just... I don't know... makes a lot of sense to me.
Goals:
Get my doctorate of medicine and work with Doctors Without Borders
Travel... anywhere.
Watch my best friend take her final vows as a nun
See my brother get married and have the huge pile of kids he wants so badly
Finish our house
Wants:
Right now, I really want an orange. Other than that, though, my wants are pretty much the same as my goals.
Accomplishments:
I graduated high school a year early with a 4.0, and broke a bunch of school records for track. I'm also a professional painter and have sold several pieces as well as being commissioned for a few portraits. And... well... other stuff, but mostly personal accomplishments, ya know?
Favorites:
Book: "The Master and Margarita" by Bulgakov and "Bury My Heart at Wounded Knee" by Dee Brown
Band: There are a lot, but currently I'm completely enamored with Blue October and Toad and the Wet Sprocket, and Robert Mirabal is amazing, too.
Movie: "Robin and the Seven Hoods" and "Fantasia"
Artist: Sooo many, but MC Escher, Georgia O'Keeffe, Caravaggio, Gaulli, Bosch, van Gogh, Vermeer and Dali are at the top.
