Chapter 1

Valentine's Day- one of the worst holidays ever. Why? Because I am most likely going to be forever alone for the rest of my life. I've never had a boyfriend in my 16 years of life. Well, I did have a "boyfriend" in second grade but that doesn't really count. I want something real, something that'll last. I guess, those are just fairytales...

Today is the day where the student council sells "lovely grams". They're roses with little letters attached to them. I've never gotten one though.

"So, have you gotten any lovely grams?" asked my friend, Autumn as we were heading out to our lunch table.

"Haha. No. I've never gotten any and you know that." I set my tray down on the table. I started to open my bag of chips.

"Yeah I know... I was just hoping my best friend would finally receive a gram from somebody."

"Just face it, Autumn. I'm going to wind up a cat lady, living all by myself. "

"And what makes you say that?" said a voice. I looked to my right and saw August, my brother's best friend, sitting beside me. He was sort of my friend too. He's come to my house ever since I could remember. I had to admit, he's kind of cute too with his long black hair, light blue eyes, and those full pink kissable lips- What am I saying? He would never go for a girl like me. I'm nothing compared to his ex-girlfriend's they're all so pretty and beautiful. On the other hand, they were all whores and cheated on him. I don't undersand why they would though. August is so sweet and such a gentleman. Why would anybody hurt him?

"Well because no one wants me," I said. I could of sworn I saw him frown.

"Well how do you know? Maybe someone does want you but they're too shy to say anything." I laughed.

"You're funny, you know that?"

"August!" I heard my brother yell.

"Well, I gotta go," said August. "I'll talk to you later, Blue." He gave me a quick hug and left.

"You know-" Autumn began but got interrupted by the bell. We took our trays up and threw our leftover food away.

The rest of the schoolday just passed by in a blur, until last block when they were delivering lovely grams. I groaned and looked over at Autumn who had a couple of roses.

"Who are those from?" I asked.

"Oh, just a couple of guys- Zane and Mitch. Have you gotten any yet?" I raised my hands.

"Nope." Just then one of the deliverers walked over to me.

"Blue?" she asked handing me a rose.

"Yes..." I said confused.

"For you. Happy Valentine's Day." She walked off. I looked at the rose as if it were some sort of unidentified foreign object.

I saw a little piece of paper inside and took it out. It had the words "Flip Me" on the front. I flipped it over and read one of the most beautiful things I have ever heard in my life...
